Friday 30th November 2018 - 11:00 to 12:15 The recent storms have blown most of the leaves off the trees; making it a bit easier to spot birds. The water level in the lake is, at last, rising. It was a fine sunny day which even tempting the odd bumble bee to venture out. The birds seen were a strange mixture with two new ticks for my patch list while several 'common' birds stayed out of sight. The additions were a Kestrel  which flew over the park and a Mistle Thrush  which was competing with the other thrushes  and Blackbirds  for the berries. There were two Egyptian Geese  together. So maybe we will have another brood early next year. The numbers of Mallard  are growing. The males have come out of eclipse and are looking very smart glossy. A full list of the birds seen is given in the Bird Table .
