Wednesday 30th September 2020 - 10:30 to 12:30 It was a grey showery day reminding us that autumn is coming. For the second report in a row we saw a new bird for our park check list and it was another duck. This time we saw a Gadwall . The water level is very low. The foundation of the Pulhamite island is exposed. A Grey Heron was fishing but the water hardly seemed deep enough. The two adult Egyptian Geese were resting on a fishing platform. But we did not see their goslings. There were a lot of Moorhen both adult and juvenile. A Grey Wagtail was enjoying the increased expanses of mud. A full list of birds seen is given in the Bird Table . Addition Thursday 1st October 2020 I went back to the park on the next day hoping to photograph the Gadwall . It was still there - and so was the Teal . The water level had gone up following the heavy rain yesterday. The five Egyptian goslings were with their parents. They have grown and beginning to get their adult plumage. The Grey Wagtail was still around. In addition to the birds I listed yesterday I saw: Nuthatch ; Great Tit ; Blackbird and Herring Gull .
