The morning was a brief sunny interlude in the recent succession of grey, wet days.
There were many
Gulls
,
Black-headed and Herring
, on the lake. They are coming
back for the winter.
It was good to see the two
Great Crested Grebes
back after their time away. Maybe
they have been encouraged by the increasing depth of the water.
We saw a
Cormorant
and a
Grey Heron
on the main island.
We think the group of 2 adult and 5 juvenile
Egyptian Geese
are still intact. The
youngsters are becoming independent and venturing off on their own.
There is still a shortage of small birds.
In Grattons Park we saw a
Grey Wagtail
and a
Wren
in the small stream in the
woods.
A full list of birds seen is given in the
Bird Table
.
