Sunday 6th June 2021 - 10:15 to 12:00 It was warm and humid. There were many Canada goslings in at least three groups. The youngest are still small, yellow and fluffy. The older ones were greyer and larger. The oldest were nearly as big as the adults. The young Coots are nearly as big as the adults and are moulting into their full plumage. The young Mallards are almost indistinguishable from their parents. One of the Great Crested Grebes was sat on their nest and the other was in attendance. They persevere through all the interruptions from the terrapins and the coots. They deserve to succeed. Two Egyptian Geese were on their own. It looks like their goslings have dispersed. A full list of birds seen is given in the Bird Table .
